Motivation:
To upgrade their present
finance package
Innovation:
A solution that would
allow for integration
with HR and a company
that provided technical
training
Solution:
Microsoft Dynamics GP
Solution and Infotech’s
expert team support
The National Irrigation
Commission (NIC) had
invested in the Real
World Accounting package
as far back as 1995.
Subsequent upgrades were
done up to version 6.0
by 2000. In 2004 when an
upgrade of the financial
package was needed, Real
World was now under the
umbrella of Microsoft
having recently been
acquired by Microsoft
Microsoft had
established its name at
NIC as a manufacturer of
good products leveraging
the Windows Platform.
This knowledge of
Microsoft behind the
Great Plains Package
provided all the
confidence to NIC that
Great Plains would be a
good and well supported
product that will get
better and better.
MS Dynamics GP offered
an integrated package
that included HR
Management. Infotech at
the time had shown
itself to NIC’s decision
makers that it had the
capacity to support the
Great Plains package at
the company’s strategic
level as set out in the
Finance Division’s
corporate objectives, to
include Technical
Support (Knowledge
base). Training was not
available with the Real
World accounting and
finance package
“Infotech’s service was
above all other support
service we have
experienced in the past,
especially in the areas
of Technical Support and
response times to
customers’
needs. Infotech is
reliable and organised
and has a team that is
well trained and
professional…I am very
happy with the outcome
of our project” says
Bryan Hastings, Manager,
Information Technology -
NIC.
